| Walk of Fame to add 22 and
'71 Wings

(August 28, 2003) — Links to some of Rochester’s greatest sports teams will
be honored tonight when 22 people — and one team — are inducted into the
Frontier Field Walk of Fame.
Don Fazio was the second baseman on the 1971 Rochester Red Wings Little
World Series championship team. Fazio will be inducted into the professional
sports section while the entire 1971 team will enter as the Team of the
Ages.
Fazio was also a longtime physical education teacher at Rush-Henrietta High
School and remains a prominent senior softball player.
Arnie Johnson and George Glamack played for the NBA’s Rochester Royals,
Billy Southworth was a player and manager for the Wings from 1928 to ‘32,
and Jim Hofford played defense for the 1987 Calder Cup champion Amerks.
Also joining the Walk of Fame in 6:45 ceremonies before the Red Wings play
the Syracuse SkyChiefs:
Amateur sports: Jerry Hunter, Jim Klimschot, Frank “ Chip” Lillich and
Cornelius Southall.
Amateur coaches: Mike Fennell,
Mike Neer, Al Best, Joe Borrosh and Marty Keating.
